A bumper Saturday of racing action is set to take place providing the weather plays ball at Newbury, Lingfield, Kelso, Doncaster and Southwell. I have picked out two suggestions for you to follow across the day.
San Benedeto to win NR
One of the biggest races of the day presents a proper challenge to punters, given we are currently 6/1 the field the four place each way looks a good option for whatever you fancy, there is one horse that stands out from the crowd to me and that is Paul Nicholls San Benedeto. Nicholls has plenty of darts to fire at this prize he has won six time from the last nine runnings. Bryan Carver takes a useful five pounds off, the nine year old who won this off 147 last year can put up another big effort today and is a good shout to back each way.
Kepagge to win
Those of you that have been reading the blog for a while will recall I put this horse up at Chepstow when the meeting was lost, we have waited a while to see him but I think that Kepagge can get the better of the paper favourite Fiark even giving away the seven pound penalty. David Pipe’s six year old should relish the challenging conditions having won on soft and heavy ground plus the yard are ticking over nicely and had an impressive winner at Newbury yesterday. I am not sure the favourite wants a drop in trip and whilst Dan Skelton’s runner needs to be respected it is Kepagge we keep the faith with.
