Just the one card today but we are very glad to have action at Thurles to enjoy, in these difficult times its great to support the racing industry by sponsoring two of the races on the card today. The action looks competitive and I have two each way shouts for you to consider here, don’t forget ITV is covering the majority of these races today.

Brace Yourself - Each Way

Thurles (14.10)

7/1

This race looks a decent little contest, plenty of eyes have been drawn to the Willie Mullins trained Karl De Grosse who has been off the track over a year. He arrives here with the yard in good form. His three runs in Ireland so far have been a mixed bag. His debut at Tramore was fairly impressive, that came in a weak looking event and he then went on to be beaten at Galway in a better race and was last seen pulling up at this track back in Febuary 2019. Given that today he encounters soft ground and good company I am going to look elsewhere.

Mary Francis has plenty of strong claims to be favourite based on recent form and has a course and distance win to her name. That said, at the prices, I want to be with Noel Meads Brace Yourself.

Meads strike rate is fair at the current time and this horse ran in a hot race with the horse in front of him that day being none other than Tiger Roll. A winner on soft and heavy ground, he can offer some value as an each way bet in this two mile six furlong hurdle.

Hotel Du Nord - Each Way

Thurles (16.10)

A beginners chase which has plenty of familiar names to racing fans. I am still not convinced this is what Max Dynamtie wants to be doing at his stage of life and I am not sure the soft going is going to suit him today.

BetVictor ambassador Rachael Blackmore has the ride on Myth Buster you can see her view on that runner here.

My selection is another each way shout at a double figure price. Hotel Du Nord to my eye is good value at 12/1. He has got the better of Dortmund Park on a previous occasion and had just the one run over fences to date. Whilst this point to point winner will need more, the fair recent form of Jessie Harrington’s runners has me interested in chancing some improvement to come from the seven year old at an each way price here today.
