You may recognise him from the live racing channels on TV, where he’s represented us the length and breadth of the country at the best tracks in the sport. BetVictor brand ambassador and horse racing expert Sam Boswell is here to lend you his insight for a variety of upcoming meetings, and deliver a selection of his best tips, in his own exclusive column.

It was great to get a winner on the board yesterday at Kempton. The next few days’ racing ahead of the Festival does have a skinny look to it with the loss of both Leicester and Sandown’s Friday fixture.

Given the forecast, more could fall ahead of the biggest week of the season. Today, we have action from Wincanton, Thurles, Carlisle, Newcastle and Southwell.

Eklat De Rire to win

Thurles (16.25)

Rachael Blackmore can expect a busy Cheltenham Festival and we are currently joint-top price on her to be the leading jockey at the Festival here. Today, she has just the one ride in this maiden hurdle over an extended trip.

Eklat De Rire scored on his point to point debut. He then joined the De Bromhead yard and was a good second at Punchestown to Foxy Jacks who had the benefit of more experience. The six-year-old goes up in trip today and can give Blackmore the BetVictor ambassador a brilliant chance of a winner here at Thurles.

BetVictor Cheltenham Festival Racing Specials

With attention turning towards Cheltenham and today’s racing being fairly uninspiring, I decided to revisit our special markets to see if we can find you some value for next week.

The first that catches the eye is Gordon Elliott to have four or more winners at 6/4. Two of the last three years Elliott has exceeded this.

Last year, he had three winners and seems to be going into the Festival with a stronger hand this year. If you have missed the fancy ante-post prices on his superstars like Envoi Allen, this bet could be one to give you some interest for the week. His strengths in the handicaps is another massive plus point for anyone taking the 6/4 about him scoring four or more winners.

The other bet that stands out is Rachael Blackmore to have three or more winners at 5/1. She had two winners last year and heads into the Festival with a sensational book of rides. Minella IndoHoneysuckleMinella Melody and Aspire Tower alone could have her ahead of last year’s target.

At 5/1, it will give you a bit of interest in arguably one of the biggest stories of the week. Don’t forget we will have Racheal’s thoughts every day of the Festival in her BetVictor blog.
