BetVictor ambassador Nicola Currie gives us the lowdown on her rides for Monday at the start of a huge week for the sport.
Peggie Sue
Chepstow (Monday, 18.25)
Royal Ascot week always feels pretty special and I am looking forward riding there later in the week.
Today, I head to Chepstow where my first ride will be Peggie Sue for Adam West. I’ve been lucky to win on this little filly last year at Lingfield. She’s very tough and versatile, so I wouldn’t be worried that the ground is good to soft.
She returned to action recently with a good fourth at Kempton which could just give her an edge on a few of these in the race.
Mumsbirthdaygirl
Chepstow (Monday, 18.55)
My next ride is Mumsbirthdaygirl in the five-furlong handicap for Mark Loughnane. She drops back in trip having had her previous couple of starts being over slightly further.
I rode her at Kempton over six furlongs back in November last year and she felt like she was sharp and would handle the drop back to five, so fingers crossed for a nice run in a competitive looking race.
Caribbean Spice
Chepstow (Monday, 19.25)
My final ride is Caribbean Spice for Brian Meehan in the maiden over seven furlongs. He is a 3-year-old Gutaifan gelding having only his second career start, so I look forward to learning more about him here.
