After a recent run of winning selections, Sam Boswell returns to give us his picks ahead of a busy day with selections at Stratford and Sandown.
This looks like a cracking little Handicap hurdle. This class 3 event features a few horses that are coming back off significant breaks. There is a horse in here that I really like for Fergal O’Brien, who had a good winner yesterday in the bumper that I had tipped.
Teqany is a six-year-old rated 130, with Paddy Brennan booked to ride. This a previous course winner and I think the mark may just be fair on the horse in a competitive race. Has had the benefit of a further wind op since his last run in September.
Fergal can certainly get horses right first time out to the track and I’m really keen on his chances at a bit of an each-way price
This is a listed race over seven furlongs with seven horses going to post. It looks a warm little heat with plenty of interesting runners; you could make a case for a few of them. I’m quite a big fan of Setarhe for Roger Varian, however, the selection is going to be Fev Rover for Richard Fahey.
This horse was seen last time out nearly getting the better of the Albany winner Dandalla on the July course over six furlongs. That run came on slightly softer ground but he ran OK when finishing second on debut. It looks like this horse really could be the best of a good bunch in here.
Ben Curtis, a jockey I currently have a lot of time for, is booked to ride and is currently 7/2 second favourite to win the Jockeys’ Championship. Whilst I respect Serathe, based on the Albany run, and what happened with Dandalla, Fev Rover has to be the selection here and looks to take all the beating.
