Racing returned yesterday with a busy card at Newcastle, It was tough for punters with some big priced winners, Rodger Fell and Kevin Ryan’s runners all seemed fairly forward from a small sample. We had a nice winner with Victor Ladourm yesterday and he is now 2/1 with us for the Prix du Jockey Club.
Today we have more action at Newcastle, Kempton joins the party plus a card in France for anyone who has enjoyed racing across the channel. It is also a big day for BetVictor ambassador Nicola Currie who has her first ride back since the shutdown. You can see her views on her pair of rides today here. Here are my two racing tips for the day.
St Gallen
Kempton (1.35)
The first selection comes from a yard more associated with jumping. St Gallen arrives here after a significant lay off, he won twice on his first two starts after joining Olly Murphy over jumps. Today he arrives off the back of a wind op and, going back over the Irish flat form the horse displayed in his younger days, it gives you great hope a race of this nature is well within his range off this mark.
London Eye
Kempton (5.05)
Ryan Moore returns to racing at Kempton today with four rides. A man of his ability will be in demand at any time. It looks, at least initially, he will be riding this side of the Irish Sea and many good trainers will be keen to obtain his services. Harry Fry may well have picked up London Eye with a view to go jumping but he has wisely decided to at least try and get some juice out of a mark of 72 on the flat. The house is not a gelding and, being one of the most unexposed in the field, could have improvement to come. Ryan Moore will know enough about this ex-Sir Michael Stoute inmate and at around 10/3, I think the four-year-old is worth a small win bet in this handicap.
