It’s the Scottish Grand National at Ayr this Saturday and we have taken a closer look at what has been popular in our Antepost book.
Beware The Bear (10/1 from 14s) has been the most backed horse ahead of the Ayr showpiece. Nicky Henderson’s Chelteham Festival winner has been the subject of 13.5% of all Antepost bets, in what has been a busy betting heat.
Grand National faller Vintage Clouds (8/1 from 16s) has also been popular. 8% of bets have been placed on Trevor Hemming’s 9-year-old who finished 3rd in the race last year behind Ballyoptic and winner Joe Farrell.
Crossuhue Boy (10/1 from 33s) defeated Dingo Dollar (8/1 from 10s) over these fences last season and it is fascinating to see that at the time of writing, we have taken the exact same number of bets on both. Together they account for 16% of wagers placed in the market.
Others that have been the subject of support include Big River (8%) and Eider Chase winner Crosspark (5.75%).
