Thursday provided us with another afternoon of thrills and spills on day three at The Festival, with arguably the most competitive race of the day, the Ryanair Chase, standing out with its frantic grandstand finish. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for BetVictor Brand Ambassador, Rachael Blackmore as her mount, A Plus Tard, finished a gallant 3rd behind Saint Calvados and eventual winner Min.

Today, Rachael has another exciting book of rides on the final day of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival. We have caught up with the Irish rider once again, as she looks to see further improvement on what has already been a successful week.

Triumph Hurdle (13.30)

My first ride of the day is on Aspire Tower in the Triumph Hurdle for Henry. He has looked extremely impressive at home and was a winner in his first two starts over hurdles. Since then, he was unlucky when falling at the last when running at Leopardstown’s Dublin Racing Festival.

He seems to have come out the race really well and the fall has had no ill effects. On paper, it looks like there will be a lot of pace in the race, which should suit him, and if he can return to his previous form, he should take all the beating.

The English juveniles look strong. However, we are happy with ours and I’m very much looking forward to riding him.

County Hurdle (14.10)

Next up, I am aboard Moon Over Germany in the County Hurdle. He is rated 10Ibs higher over fences, so you’d like to think that he can do something on this mark over hurdles.

You need a lot of luck in a race like this, but he is straightforward and we’re hoping he can run well.

Albert Bartlett (14.50)

My next ride is on Cobbler’s Way in the Albert Bartlett for Henry. He was a very good 2nd to Latest Exhibition last day at Leopardstown. He stays well and seems to be an improving horse, so we’re hoping that he can continue his upward curve.

I won this race last year, so let’s hope we are there or thereabouts at the business end again.

Cheltenham Gold Cup (15.30)

This is the pinnacle of the week for everyone and this year’s renewal has a lot of exciting horses in it. Last year’s winner, Al Boum Photo, is dominating at the top of the market. However, my horse, Monalee has been aimed at this race for a long time.

Grand Annual (16.50)

My final ride of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival will be aboard Jan Maat in the Grand Annual. He hasn’t ran since October when we decided to aim for this race.

We couldn’t be happier with him at home and I think he is definitely one to keep on your side in a competitive handicap like this.
