Liverpool FC: Christmas Crack Me Up Challenge
We have reached the last four of the World Cup and unless you have been holidaying in a different galaxy for the last couple of weeks you will be aware that England are one of four European nations through to the semi-finals and I’m confident that the Three Lions will be contesting Sunday’s Final in Moscow.
The last time these nations met, Belgium won 4-3 in Paris just over three years ago, but I don’t expect to see another goal-fest in this World Cup semi-final.
This is a very difficult game to call and it would not surprise me if it went beyond the 90 minutes. Both sides have plenty of potential goalscorers and Kevin De Bruyne’s strike against Brazil was worthy of winning any game.
If forced to choose, I would just side with the Red Devils of Belgium in what promises to be a game to savour.
Game to finish in a draw after 90 minutes at 23/10
Belgium to qualify at 11/10
Both Teams over 3.5 corners and over 0.5 cards at 6/4
I was as impressed with England as everyone else against Sweden on Saturday but we must continue to improve. Had you told me before the start of the tournament Gareth Southgate’s side would reach the semi-final, I would have bitten your hand off – but not now!
I am confident that the Three Lions can make Sunday’s final, although Croatia will provide a sterner test than Sweden. I expect both sides to find the back of the net with England just shading a close, tense encounter.
Croatia have beaten both Denmark and Russia on penalties but that might not be a true barometer of their quality. That said England are a better side – in my opinion – and should be good enough to win the tie in 90 minutes and make the 2018 World Cup Final.
I felt Raheem Sterling’s movement and touch were outstanding against Sweden. Yes, he again failed to hit the back of the net but I wonder if he is saving his best in front of goal to last?
England to win 5/4
Sterling to score anytime 14/5
England to win, Both Teams To Score (yes) and Raheem Sterling to score 10/1
