Green Bay Packers @ Miami Dolphins

First up we have got the Packers travelling to Florida to take on the Dolphins. A matchup that was meant to be between two playoff contenders hasn’t quite worked out. The Dolphins are hanging on to the final wildcard spot in the AFC and the Packers are way off the pace.

The season so far

The Green Bay Packers have had a rough season so far. Sitting at 6-8 it looks like the playoffs will not be in the plans of the Packers this year. The offence has looked better over the last month but that is mainly due to the impact from rookie receiver, Christian Watson.

Despite the better performances from the Packers offence, they are still struggling to win games, mainly due to the defence. Two decent performances against the Bears and Rams with a bye in between is only papering over the cracks.

Miami was looking to be in a strong position for not just a playoff berth but potentially the division title. However, the last three weeks have been a disaster for the Dolphins and now even a playoff spot is in doubt.

They have lost the last three games, all on the road, against the 49ers, Chargers and last week to the Bills. At 8-6 they have a few teams right behind them and they need to get back to winning ways quickly.

Team News

The Packers are likely to have the same team who beat the Rams on Monday night as they had no new injuries. David Bakhtiari was out due to having his appendectomy and will be questionable for this game.

AJ Dillon managed to avoid a concussion which means he will be good for this game. The only other issues the Packers have are Rashan Gary and Eric Stokes who are both on injured reserve and out for the season.

The Dolphins have got a few more injury issues with the biggest worry being running back Jeff Wilson. He missed the game on Saturday and is questionable for this game with a hip injury. Also, back-up QB Terry Bridgewater is questionable with a knee injury.

On the defensive side, linebacker Jerome Baker is questionable with and ankle injury and safety Eric Rowe with a hamstring injury. On top of that they are lacking depth in the defence due to seven players being out on injured reserve.

Miami Dolphins -3.5

4/5

The Dolphins have had a tough run of it in the last few weeks but if they want to get a playoff spot then they need to get back to winning ways. The Packers have had an up turn in form winning their last two games, but they have been against poor opposition. With that in mind you feel the Dolphins will be too strong and so the -3.5 in the spread market at 4/5 looks a good bet.

Christian Watson to score a touchdown anytime

Another good bet for this game is Christian Watson to score a touchdown anytime. Although he didn’t score last week he has been on a crazy run of form. Scoring eight touchdowns in four games and gaining Aaron Rodgers trust. At 15/8 he is a great price against a Miami defence you can score on.

Denver Broncos @ LA Rams

Next up we have got the Broncos travelling to L.A to take on the Rams. What looked like a great game at the beginning of the season now looks like a pointless game. Both teams are sitting at 4-10 and are shockingly eliminated from the playoffs already.

The season so far

The Broncos have had an awful season mainly due to the horrible season from Russell Wilson. Their new QB started off the season nicely in the first few games but since around week five its all been downhill.

The defence is one of the best in the league and have done everything possible to get wins. However, Denver have lost five of their last six games and it doesn’t look like its going to get much better in a tough season.

The Rams have also had a tough season but rather than it being from bad play they have just been decimated by injuries. They were 3-3 at the beginning of the season but have lost eight of their last nine games.

Neither side of the ball are looking anywhere like the Superbowl winning team of last year. However, the defence does still seem to be playing hard and running back Cam Akers is doing fine at running back.

Team News

The biggest worry for the Broncos is if starting QB Russell Wilson is fit to play. He is currently questionable with a concussion and missed the game last Sunday. Also, Courtland Sutton and Kendall Hinton both have hamstring injuries.

On top of that the Broncos have had loads of injuries to deal with at running back. Defensively they look strong, and all their starters are fit to play.

The Rams have also lost a lot of quality with plenty of their Superbowl winners on injured reserve. Starting QB Matt Stafford is out with a neck problem. Also stud receiver Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson are both out with ankle and foot injuries respectively.

Centre, Brad Allen has also got a calf issue which means he is questionable for this game. Defensively the Rams don’t look to bad, but star man Aaron Donald is questionable with an ankle injury that forced him out of their game in week 15.

Denver Broncos -2.5

Denver have managed to score a decent number of points in the last two games and look to still be trying to win games. The Rams seem to be struggling to put up points since Baker Mayfield has been QB and the Denver defence is one of the best in the league. The Broncos are -2.5 for this game and is a good price at 8/11.

Jerry Jeudy to score a touchdown anytime

7/4

On top of that they have a solid receiver option in Jerry Jeudy and he is a good price to score anytime at 7/4. He has been the go-to target for both Russell Wilson and Brett Rypien and although Courtland Sutton should be back Jeudy will still be the main guy.

Tampa Bay Bucs @ Arizona Cardinals

Our final Christmas Day game sees the Bucs go to Arizona to take on the Cardinals for Sunday Night Football. Both teams have got losing records so far but are in very different situations going into this game.

The season so far

Tampa Bay have had a very up and down season where they just can’t get any consistency. In the first five games they were 3-2 and looked a solid side but in the next nine games they went 3-6.

Tom Brady has found this year a tough one both on and off the field, but you can’t back against him at the business end of the season. Having receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans fit and healthy is a massive plus as well.

Arizona have really struggled this season and at 4-10 have no chance of progressing. They have lost the last four games in a row and don’t look like they are going to get many more wins this year.

Team News

The Bucs have got a decent bill of health on the offence currently. Right Tackle Tristan Wirfs is questionable with an ankle injury and would be a big loss if he misses the game. Also, Julio Jones is questionable with a knee injury as well.

Defensively the Bucs have a few more issues. Big game tackle, Vita Vea, is questionable with a calf injury as is corner, Jamel Dean, with a toe injury. On top of the Antoine Winfield and Carl Nassib are both questionable as well.

The Cardinals are not so lucky as they have lost their star QB Kyler Murray to an ACL injury putting him out for the season. Also, back-up QB Colt McCoy is questionable after a concussion in the last game.

Also, the right side of the o-line is banged up with both Max Garcia and Kelvin Beachum questionable. Defensively the biggest problem for the Cardinals is at the corner position. Marco Wilson, Byron Murphy and Antonio Hamilton are all questionable.

Under 39.5 Points

This game looks like a low scoring game with two offences that have struggled a lot this year. The Cardinals have Trace McSorley starting at QB and that will mean not many points scored. The Bucs should win this game but will rely on the running game when they get ahead. The total points are at 39.5 and so take the under at 37/40.

Chris Godwin to score a touchdown anytime

My final bet of the day is a Chris Godwin touchdown anytime. Godwin had a rough start to the season but looks fully fit and back to his best now. He has scored a touchdown in three of his last five games and is a favoured target for Tom Brady. At 13/10 he is a nice price.
